Groumette: characteristics and origins
A groumette (or gourmette) is a jewellery chain consisting of round, long or flattened links. In some cases surfaces can also be different: shiny, smooth or rough and opaque, there is no precise rule.
The groumette chain has become a true icon in fashion thanks to the French maison Chanel.
It has become the symbol of the brand together with pearls, appearing from one collection to another as a belt, as a detail inside the lining of jackets, as a handle for bags, as an accessory for shoes and of course as a precious bijoux to wear around the neck or wrist.
Bold chains for summer 2020
